Radiology Services
Breast Cancer Screening
Screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, cyst aspiration, galactography (ductogram), needle localization and breast core biopsy are procedures offered within the radiology department as part of CHRISTUS Schumpert Medical Center's comprehensive, accredited mammography program.
The tests are used to find and remove breast tissue that may be cancerous. In many cases, the tests are done on an outpatient basis and only take a short time to complete.
CHRISTUS Schumpert's Imaging and Breast Care Center
CHRISTUS Schumpert's Imaging and Breast Care Center provides outpatient radiology services by physician referral. The center is located close to the hospital and physicians' offices, and is certified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration under the Mammography Quality Standards Act. All exams are performed by registered and licensed technologists and interpreted by board-certified radiologists.
Services we provide include:
- Screening and diagnostic mammograms.
- Pelvic, obstetric, abdominal and breast ultrasound.
- General diagnostic x-ray exams, including chest and bone x-rays.
