Vascular Interventional Imaging
The fastest growing section of the radiology department is vascular and interventional radiology. This field includes a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using minimally invasive techniques.
Commonly performed procedures include:
- Cerebral and peripheral angiography.
- Arterial and venous balloon angioplasty.
- Vascular stent placement.
- Biopsy.
- Diagnosis and treatment of urinary obstruction.
- Drainage of abscesses.
While many of these conditions previously required surgery, most can now be treated on an outpatient basis.
